The Fruit of Thy Labors

One of the things I love about my husband is that he is very diligent in the gospel. He was a great missionary and worked really hard. He baptized a lot of people, but one person in particular stands out. Brother Tom Archer. Brother Archer's wife Paula was a member, but Tom wasn't, and he absolutely refused to become one. He had had several sets of missionaries give him the first few lessons, but he never felt the spirit. Then David came along. David really showed his love for Tom, and that is what Tom won over. David baptized him and was his escort when Tom went through the temple for the first time. This time, Tom and Paula were going to be sealed, so of course David had to be the witness! We flew up to Oregon on January 30th and enjoyed a great, spiritual weekend.

been on a plane since I was about three, so

it was all really new for me. They gave us

Ritz chips, small bags of peanuts (I thought

that was just in the movies!), water (in a can, which

was weird), and, of course, the newest edition of

Sky Mall magazine! I had to take a picture.

Paula kept pointing at David and whispering,

"That's the missionary that baptized Tom!" David was like

a rock star! I am very grateful to have these generous

and loving people in my life, and I know David is as well.

Okay, these next two pictures are specifically for

Louise and Alicia. David and I went to kind of

a strange movie theater and saw these paintings

on the wall. They reminded me of you two so much.

I had to take pictures. This is a pear with wings.

It was a great weekend. It was one of our first little aventures together as a married couple, and an experience that I'm DEFINITELY going to scrapbook!
